Actress Maris Racal is still on cloud nine as she graces the 75th Berlin International Film Festival (BIFF).
Racal is among the attendees of the prestigious festival for her film Sunshine, which has been officially selected for the Generation 14plus competition category, marking its European premiere.
Taking to Instagram, Racal shared glimpses of her unforgettable Berlinale experience, including her walk down the festival’s red carpet.
"My first Berlinale International Film Festival — truly unforgettable," she wrote. "I simply cannot wait for Sunshine’s European premiere. I'm so happy for us @project8projects @tonetjadaone huhu what a milestone!"
Racal turned heads at the event, exuding confidence in a silk dress adorned with a sampaguita garland draped around the neckline.
"Give Maris her flowers," she quipped. "Oh… never mind, they’re already hanging around her neck."
"Sunshine" tells the story of a young gymnast who discovers she is pregnant just as she prepares for national team tryouts. On her way to buy illegal abortion pills, she encounters a mysterious girl who eerily talks and thinks like her.
Prior to Berlinale, Sunshine was also recognized at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2024, further solidifying its presence on the global stage.
