Two suspected drug dealers were arrested early Thursday morning in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Caloocan City Police, resulting in the confiscation of at least P5.1 million worth of illegal drugs.
The operation, led by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), took place around 2:47 AM along Dagat-Dagatan Avenue in Barangay 28.
According to Police Captain Magdalena Obrial, Acting Chief of the Community Affairs Section, the suspects were identified as "Alibay," a 31-year-old female from Pasay City, and "Ralph," a 21-year-old resident of Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City.
Authorities recovered nine plastic sachets containing a total of 750 grams of suspected shabu.
"Our subject in the operation was to buy 50 grams of shabu from the suspect, while the remaining 700 grams was recovered from a belt bag," police reported.
Obrial added that the suspects were known for being drug dealers in their neighborhood. Upon questioning, one of them claimed that their drug supply was delivered through a courier service.
Caloocan City Police are now investigating whether the suspects were involved in other criminal activities prior to their arrest.
They will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
