Ambassador Endo Kazuya of Japan welcomed Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Undersecretary, National Statistician, and Civil Registrar General Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D and other PSA senior officials to his residence Wednesday, 12 February.
They held a wide-ranging exchange of views on the latest situation and issues surrounding the war-displaced Japanese descendants in the Philippines, also known as the “Filipino Nikkei-jin.”
Endo and the PSA officials also discussed the deepening cooperation between Japan and the Philippines in the field of statistics.
This meeting aligns with the Embassy of Japan’s commitment to provide maximum support to as many remaining Filipino Nikkei-jin as possible, enabling them to swiftly restore their Japanese nationality and temporary return to Japan smoothly.
