BKS Green Energy Corp., a unit of Rizal Green Energy Corp. backed by Yuchengco-led PetroGreen Energy Corp. (PGEC) and Japan’s Taisei Corp., is advancing the 33.831-megawatt (MW) Phase 2 of the Limbauan Solar Power Project (LSPP) in Isabela province.
In a stock exchange report on Monday, PGEC said it has secured transmission approval from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) last month, following its earlier approval of the System Impact Study in September 2024.
The Department of Energy (DoE) certified LSPP as an Energy Project of National Significance in November 2024.
PGEC vice president for Business Development Maria Victoria M. Olivar said the approvals confirmed the technical feasibility of connecting LSPP-2 to the Tuguegarao–Cabagan 69-kilovolt transmission system.
“LSPP-2 is a qualified solar project under the Green Energy Auction-2 (GEA-2) and has a December 2025 delivery commitment to the DoE. We thank our major stakeholders — the DoE, DENR, NGCP, ISELCO-II and the Isabela LGUs — for their cooperation and support for the project, which will enhance power security and avoid harmful emissions in the booming Cagayan Valley region,” Olivar said.
