Hallyu stars Gong Yoo and Song Hye-kyo are officially set to lead the upcoming Netflix K-drama Slowly, Intensely, marking their first on-screen collaboration. This much-anticipated project follows Song’s recent role in The Priests 2: Dark Nuns and Gong’s appearance in Squid Game 2.
The drama also reunites Song with acclaimed writer Noh Hee-kyung and director Lee Yoon-jung, heightening excitement among K-drama fans.
Song Hye-kyo, known for her transformative performances in The Glory, Descendants of the Sun, and That Winter, the Wind Blows, will bring to life Minja — a tenacious woman who overcomes a difficult past and fearlessly pursues success in the Korean music industry.
Gong Yoo, celebrated for his roles in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Train to Busan, and Squid Game 2, takes on the role of Donggu, Minja’s childhood friend. A free-spirited yet highly intelligent character, he follows her path into the music industry, navigating both ambition and loyalty.
The drama boasts a powerhouse supporting cast, adding even more depth to its compelling narrative.
Kim Seol-hyun stars as Min-hee, a character intertwined with Minja in a complex dynamic of love and resentment, evolving from innocence to rebellion.
Cha Seung-won plays Gilyeo, a legendary composer responsible for launching the careers of numerous artists, reuniting with writer Noh Hee-kyung after Our Blues.
Lee Ha-nee portrays Yangja, Min-hee’s mother, a woman who refuses to abandon her dream of becoming a singer despite overwhelming hardships.
