DAVAO CITY — Hundreds of Inday Sara Duterte’s supporters gathered on Sunday night, 9 January, at Freedom Park on Roxas Avenue to rally in support of the impeachment complaint against the Vice President.
Supporters arrived as early as 5 PM, clad in green shirts and carrying banners and posters. Their leaders, representing each group, took turns speaking to the crowd about issues related to the Marcos administration, such as corruption, rising prices of commodities, and Duterte’s impeachment.
They kept chanting, "Yes to peace, no to impeachment!"
“We will not stop rallying until the impeachment case against Inday Sara is stopped. We are not afraid; it is our right to express our dismay about what they did to Inday Sara,” said Deputy Mayor Randy Uzman, one of the organizers of the gathering. He added that they plan to stage another rally on 25 February at EDSA.
The event wrapped up with a candle-lighting ceremony and the singing of Ka Freddie Aguilar’s iconic “Bayan Ko.”
