Jimmy Butler is heading to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, and a first-round pick. The deal also involves the Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz, who have secured notable assets as part of the multi-team trade.
The Pistons will receive Lindy Waters III, Josh Richardson, and a second-round pick, while the Jazz will acquire Dennis Schroeder. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat, Butler’s former team, will receive P.J. Tucker as part of the agreement.
This trade comes on the heels of a fallout between Butler and the Heat management, which ultimately led to a multiple-game suspension for "conduct detrimental to the team."
With Butler’s exit from Miami long anticipated following the strained relationship, the four-team deal marks the end of his tenure with the Heat.
Butler now joins the Warriors, where he will team up with NBA all-time great Stephen Curry in what promises to be an explosive pairing as Golden State pushes for another championship.
