Thirty years of culinary brilliance, endless flavors and an unwavering love for delicious cuisine have all contributed to The Bistro Group’s success.
In 1994, TGI Fridays landed in Glorietta, Makati and in just a snap, casual dining in the Philippines was never the same.
This game-changing move was all thanks to The Bistro Group’s big boss, chairman and CEO William “Bill” Stelton.
He saw the hype firsthand during his first visit to a TGI Fridays in the US and knew right away that Filipinos deserved that same quality of dining experience.
“That was why I decided to bring the concept to the Philippines,” he said. Its maiden store at Glorietta Mall was the biggest branch in the world at the time.
Other American brands like Italianni’s, Denny’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas Roadhouse, Randy’s Doughnuts, Olive Garden, Hard Rock Café and El Pollo Loco were all successfully introduced by Bistro shortly after. Along with in-house eateries like Krazy Garlik and Siklab+, Asian concepts flourished in the company’s portfolio, including Watami, Modern Shang, Red Lotus, Bulgogi Brothers, Secret Recipe and Fish & Co.
Along with Bistro Elite, which features Helm, Ember, Savage and The Test Kitchen, there are also Spanish concepts like Las Flores, Tomatito, Rambla and Rumba. Additionally, it only introduced the upscale brand Morton’s The Steakhouse in December of last year.
Bistro Group is really bringing the heat for its 30th year. First up, Dave & Buster’s, the ultimate “eatertainment” spot where you can chow down, sip cocktails, game it up, or catch the latest sports action at the bar.
Then there’s Fogo de Chão, the legendary Brazilian steakhouse serving up fire-grilled meats, churrasco style.
Craving juicy steaks? Longhorn Steakhouse is all about premium cuts, ribs and more. And for the sweet tooths, Dessert 129 from Korea is here to serve dreamy desserts.
Not stopping there, Bistro’s very own chef Josh Boutwood is dropping a fresh new concept: Juniper. Opening this February at Shangri-La Plaza, this gin haven boasts an insane selection of gins, botanicals and tonics, plus a menu designed to take your drinking experience to the next level.
