Authorities reported that a 21-year-old tricycle driver was arrested after yielding P612,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted by Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives early Sunday morning.

QCPD acting director Police Colonel Melecio Buslig Jr. said the police operations were conducted by the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS-13), headed by its commander, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rolando Baula, at around 1 a.m. on 2 February 2025.

Baula identified the suspect as Mohamad Kalunsing Saptula, a resident of Lower Jasmine Extension, Barangay Payatas A, Quezon City.

A police poseur buyer purchased P1,000 worth of shabu from Saptula, leading to his arrest. When frisked, the suspect also yielded 90 grams of shabu.

Charges of violations of Republic Act 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” are being prepared against Saptula, who is now detained at PS-13.

“This successful operation is proof of the QCPD’s continuing campaign against illegal drugs. Again, I remind the public to cooperate with authorities to combat the spread of illegal drugs in our communities,” Buslig said.
