Grab Philippines takes a big step toward inclusivity with the launch of the Grab CommuniKit, an in-vehicle visual communication tool designed to enhance interactions between passengers and deaf driver-partners.
The kit features a set of easy-to-read postcards with commonly used phrases and requests, making it easier for passengers and deaf drivers to communicate about directions, drop-off points, and ride preferences like air conditioning levels.
Developed in collaboration with DeafED Philippines, the National Association of Sign Language Interpreters, and Grab’s community of PWD driver-partners, the CommuniKit aligns with industry standards for effective communication with the deaf community.
“Our goal is to create opportunities that leave no one behind,” says Grab Philippines country head Ronald Roda.
“By equipping deaf drivers with tools to succeed, we empower them to thrive in the digital economy while serving as valued members of our fleet.”
