It’s a jackpot, baby! Netflix is dropping the new Devil May Cry anime series in April along with a new opening sequence.
Based on Capcom’s action-adventure video game series, 'Devil May Cry' centers around Dante, a half-human, half-demon mercenary who takes paranormal jobs and slays demons. He is the son of the legendary demon knight Sparda, who rebelled against his own kind to save humanity. Dante fights demons with his twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory, and his massive sword, Rebellion.
This will be the second animated series for the game, as it was previously helmed by the anime studio Madhouse and debuted on the WOWOW TV network in Japan on 14 June 2007 with a total of 12 episodes.
The new Devil May Cry series will be produced by filmmaker Adi Shankar and South Korean animation studio Studio Mir, the ones behind Harley Quinn, X-Men ’97, Avatar: The Legend of Korra, and My Adventures with Superman. Netflix also dropped the opening title sequence, featuring Dante taking on the worst scum of the demon world with Limp Bizkit’s Rollin’ playing in the background.
Devil May Cry will stream on Netflix on 3 April 2025.
