As she celebrates 15 years in the entertainment industry, powerhouse diva and actress Angeline Quinto is set to make 2025 a milestone year with a grand concert and a highly anticipated comeback film.
In an interview with the DAILY TRIBUNE, Quinto shared her excitement about commemorating her journey and giving back to her fans.
“Meron po akong isang napakalaking concert na gagawin this year, and gusto ko talaga siyang i-celebrate for my 15th year at the same time birthday concert ko. Iyan po ang pinaghahandaan naming ngayon. Meron rin po akong isang pelikula na gagawin ngayong taon na sana maging maayos lahat at ipagkaloob sa akin ni Lord,” she revealed during her endorsement deal with You Glow Babe as its newest brand ambassador.
(I have a major concert to do this year, and I want to celebrate it for my 15th year and at the same time my birthday concert. That's what we're preparing for now. I also have an upcoming movie this year that I hope will go well and that the Lord will bless me.)
Quinto is also thrilled to return to acting, calling her upcoming film a fresh and exciting challenge after her last movie, Foolish Love, in 2017.
“Medyo matagal na rin iyung last time na gumawa ako ng movie. Ilang taon na rin ’yun, so ngayon po parang kakaiba nanaman ang feeling,” she admitted.
(It's been a while since I last made a movie. It's been a few years, so now it feels a bit different.)
She described the story of her new film as unique and unlike anything she has done before.
(When I read this story, I was really excited because it was a really unique story. But I also didn't want to make this movie without training again. So before I'm going to do it, maybe I'll go back to the workshop so that I know for myself that I'm ready to make a movie again.)
Alongside her film, Quinto is also preparing for a major concert to celebrate her 15-year journey. She remains dedicated to her craft by continuously training with vocal coaches.
Siyempre, hindi naman laging kondisyon ang boses ko, lalo na kapag may mga shows out of town and out of the country,” she said.
(I will be celebrating 15 years in the industry next year, thank you, Lord, for letting me make it this far. I also never forget the people who helped me when I was starting out. So until now, whenever I have the chance, I take voice lessons from Teacher Annie Quintos. Of course, my voice is not always in great condition, especially when there are shows out of town and out of the country.)
Quinto also opened up about how motherhood has affected her voice after giving birth to her children, Sylvio and Sylvia.
(Honestly, when I gave birth to my first baby with Sylvio, I really felt that my voice had changed a bit. I asked Ms. Reg (Regine Velasquez) and my co-singers who are also mommies, and they said it was normal. So I gave myself time to get my old voice back, and it did come back.)
And when asked if there are songs she avoids, Quinto humorously responded:
“Parang wala. As in wala. So kahit anong songs, kaya ko naman,” she proudly quipped.
(None. Because that's what I always remind myself — that even though it's hard, I'll do it. Because I know, there will come a time when I won't be able to do it anymore. I don't want to regret anything when I'm old... why I didn't do it when I was still able to. So, no matter what songs, I will do them.)
As she embraces changes in her body, Quinto also revealed how she maintains her youthful glow with You Glow Babe.
(Yes, especially now since I have a baby. Of course, I want the product I use to be safe for babies. And when I tried it, it turned out that this is what my skin needed because I am also a bit sensitive to beauty products, thank God, I found You Glow Babe, which is effective for me.)
Quinto rose to fame as the grand champion of ABS-CBN’s singing competition Star Power in 2011. Now, 15 years later, she continues to prove why she remains one of the country’s most beloved divas.
