11 Bataan towns, 1 city declared child-friendly

BATAAN — All of the province’s 11 towns and one City have passed the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA).

The 12 CFLGA passers are the city of Balanga and the municipalities of Pilar, Mariveles, Samal, Abucay, Hermosa, Orion, Dinalupihan, Orani, Bagac, Morong and Limay.

This was announced by the Department of the Interior and Local Government in Bataan. “We are both thrilled and proud to announce that all 12 local government units (LGUs) in Bataan have successfully passed the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) and have achieved the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG)! This remarkable achievement marks a historic milestone as it is the first time ever that every LGU in our province has aced this important audit.”

The Bataan DILG office said “this accomplishment reflects our unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for our children. It showcases the hard work and dedication of our local leaders, staff, and the entire community in prioritizing the welfare of the youth.”

In whole Central Luzon, a total of 99 LGUs in Central Luzon passed the 2024 CFLGA conducted by the Department of the DILG.

According to Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Director Venus Rebuldela, this accomplishment underscores the collective efforts of LGUs in fostering a safe, nurturing and rights-based environment for children across the region.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all passers and conferees for their exemplary commitment to child-friendly governance. Let us continue to strengthen our partnerships in ensuring the welfare and development of children in Central Luzon,” she pointed out.

Rebuldela likewise cited other partner agencies for their continued support and commitment to furthering these initiatives, which are vital in sustaining this momentum and driving meaningful change.

The province of Nueva Ecija has 20 passers namely the cities of Cabanatuan, Muñoz, Palayan, and San Jose; and the municipalities of San Leonardo, Rizal, Talugtug, Guimba, Zaragoza, General Mamerto Natividad, Nampicuan, Llanera, Cuyapo, Gabaldon, Pantabangan, Cabiao, Talavera, Bongabon, San Isidro and San Antonio.
