The Department of Justice (DoJ) announced it will soon release the guidelines for the Blacklisted Aliens and Child Sex Offenders Registry.
Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty said the registry will protect children and ensure that the Philippines will not become a sanctuary for child sex offenders.
The registry will restrict the entry of known offenders into the country and enhance the government's response to these crimes.
A technical working group (TWG) held its first meeting on 14 January in Manila to refine the draft guidelines.
The updated draft, according to the DoJ, will play a crucial role in curbing online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) and child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM).
