Retail electricity supplier of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) MPower has secured a retail supply agreement with Lopez-led ABS-CBN Corp., covering its main buildings in Quezon City.
The Manny V. Pangilinan-led power company said on Thursday that the agreement aims to ensure the media giant’s operational stability, offering both supply security and competitive electricity rates.
“Working with MPower ensures that ABS-CBN has stable power to support its mission of delivering quality public service and entertainment content across various media platforms in the service of the Filipino,” said Grant Orbeta, head of ABS-CBN’s Real Estate and Development Group.
ABS-CBN has been a customer of MPower since the retail electricity service began in June 2013.
“Our renewed partnership with ABS-CBN reflects our constant dedication to delivering retail excellence and driving growth across diverse business industries,” said Redel M. Domingo, Meralco first vice president and MPower head.
Under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market, businesses that meet the minimum threshold — currently set at 500 kilowatts by the Energy Regulatory Commission — have the freedom to select their electricity supplier based on their unique needs.
