Speaking at a forum organized by Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) on 10 January, Senior Citizens Partylist Rep. Rodolfo “Ompong” Ordanes highlighted ongoing efforts to uplift the lives of senior citizens through government and civil society partnerships.

A staunch advocate for elderly rights, Rep. Ordanes shared initiatives spearheaded by the Senior Citizens Partylist, including livelihood programs, medical services, and financial assistance. These efforts aim to ensure that senior citizens remain active contributors to society while receiving the support they need.

The forum, moderated by CAMI member and Kapampangan advocate Joe del Rosario Zaldarriaga, who also serves as a spokesperson for Meralco, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to enhance the lives of the elderly. Meralco’s involvement in programs that benefit senior citizens was acknowledged during the discussion, particularly in initiatives aimed at providing affordable and reliable services for the elderly.

Rep. Ordanes reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders, including Meralco, to address the challenges faced by senior citizens. He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to improve their quality of life and help them remain productive members of their communities.
