Operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested a man who yielded P550,800 worth of suspected shabu during a sting operation at Barangay Bagong Silangan in Quezon City.
QCPD acting director P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. identified the suspect as Cristito Celestino Beni, who was arrested during a buy-bust carried out by the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station under P/Lt.Col. Rolando Baula in coordination with PDEA-NCR.
The operation was conducted at 9 a.m. on Sunday inside House No. 296 General Canon Street, Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
During the transaction, a police officer posed as a buyer and purchased P1,000 worth of suspected shabu from the suspect. Upon receiving the pre-arranged signal, the suspect was immediately arrested.
Recovered from the suspect were 81 grams of shabu; a .38 caliber pistol loaded with seven live ammunition, for which no pertinent documents were presented; a cellular phone; a light brown eco bag; and the marked buy-bust money used in the transaction.
Buslig said the suspect will be charged with violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
The QCPD, according to Buslig, continues to intensify its anti-illegal drug operations as part of its unwavering commitment to making Quezon City a safer, drug-free community.
