Today, Seiko turns its attention to the whiskered pitta. Nestled within the lush Philippine rainforests, the whiskered pitta enchants with its vivid plumage and distinctive high-pitched whistle. More often heard than seen, this elusive species is a prized sighting among birdwatchers. Its presence in dense undergrowth and leaf-littered forest floors serves as a testament to the rich biodiversity of Philippine rainforests, particularly on the islands of Luzon, Samar, Leyte and Mindanao.
The bird is currently listed as “Near Threatened” in the IUCN Red List. The new Philippine Limited-Edition Watch not only highlights the whiskered pitta’s stunning beauty but also serves as a reminder of the urgent need to protect its habitat, reinforcing Seiko’s ongoing mission to safeguard the Philippines’ unique biodiversity.
A new trusted companion for every adventure the timepiece is exclusively available in the Philippines with only 1,288 pieces, the fifth Philippine Limited-Edition watch combines elegant design with reliable performance, reflecting the vibrancy of the whiskered pitta. Powered by the 6R35 automatic movement, it offers a generous 70-hour power reserve and precise timekeeping with a daily accuracy of+25 to -15 seconds. The 39.5mm stainless steel case is complemented by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring clarity and durability, while the LumiBrite on the hands and indices enhances visibility in low-light conditions. Water-resistant up to 200 meters and featuring a rotating compass inner ring and screw-down crown, this watch is built to withstand any environment. The calfskin strap adds a refined touch, while the three-fold clasp with push-button release ensures a comfortable, secure fit.

With each purchase of the Seiko 5th Philippine Limited-Edition watch, a tree is planted in the Sierra Madre.
