The Office of Civil Defense Region 1, in coordination with the 4th Marine Brigade, the 501st Infantry Brigade, and Tactical Operations Group 1, is fully prepared to respond to calamities, particularly earthquakes and tsunamis.
Adreanne Pagsolingan, OCD Regional Information Officer in Region 1, on Friday, shared that this came about after Philippine Institute Volcanology and Seismology monitored a series of earthquakes since 17 December located at the Manila Trench offshore of Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, heightening vigilance across the region.
