Cebu Pacific, one of the Philippines’ leading carriers, marked a significant milestone on 11 December, 2024, by flying its 250 millionth passenger.
The milestone was commemorated with a special event at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. The honored passenger, Russel Capaniarihan, is a Singapore-based overseas Filipino worker originally from Bacolod. Returning home for the holidays after 11 years, Capaniarihan was aboard Flight 5J 814 from Singapore to Manila.
The lucky flier was greeted upon arrival by Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao and Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Candice Iyog. As a gesture of gratitude, the airline presented her with P250,000 in cash and 25 free round-trip tickets to destinations within Cebu Pacific’s network, including routes across the Philippines, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
“This 250 million passenger milestone is a testament to the trust and loyalty of every Juan who has chosen to fly with us. It represents countless stories, reunions, and memorable moments made possible over the years. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to making every Juan’s journey affordable, accessible, and unforgettable—not only across the Philippines but beyond,” Lao shared during the event.
The celebration began earlier at Singapore Changi Airport, where passengers of Flight 5J 814 were welcomed with a photo wall and interactive games. During the flight, cabin crew added to the excitement with in-flight activities and prizes, including free round-trip tickets.
Cebu Pacific’s milestone highlights its role in connecting people and places, fostering memorable travel experiences, and making air travel more inclusive for Filipinos.
