Terrafirma Dyip big man Vic Manuel swears there was no bad blood between him and San Miguel Beer after their 106-88 loss in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup last Friday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Manuel, who scored 12 points against the Beermen, said he had no ill will towards his former team after getting traded alongside Terrence Romeo to Dyip in exchange for Juami Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig last November.
“I have nothing against them. I enjoy facing them in the court,” said Manuel, a two-time PBA champion with the Beermen.
“I’m just doing my best for Terrafirma.”
The Dyip have yet to win in the Commissioner’s Cup after five games, putting them at the bottom of the 13-team league.
With only him, Stanley Pringle and Kevin Ferrer as the veterans for Terrafirma, Manuel admitted the struggles of getting a win in the midseason conference.
“We’re really tired. There are only a few big men in the rotation,” Manuel said.
