Marikina City residents took to social media to air their unwavering support for embattled Mayor Marcy Teodoro, urging him to continue the fight for the truth and for his constituents.
"Tuloy lang po ang laban. Kasama nyo kaming lahat sa anumang laban na inyong tatahakin nandito po kami para sa inyo (Keep fighting. We are all with you in any battle you will face, we are here for you)," a resident said.
"Laban lang po tayo Cong Maan Teodoro at Mayor Marcy Teodoro andito kami para sa inyo (Stay strong, Congresswoman Maan Teodoro and Mayor Marcy Teodoro. We are here for you)," another one commented.
They also expressed belief that personalities behind the smear campaign against Teodoro won't succeed, citing his proven track record of public service in Marikina City.
"Naniniwala po kami hindi pahihintulutan ni Lord ang masamang nilang balak sa inyo lalo na sa taumbayan. Patuloy kaming susuporta at naniniwala sa tapat nyong paglilingkod sa mga taga-Marikina (We believe that the Lord will not allow their evil plans against you to persevere, especially against the people. We will continue to support you and we believe in your honest service to the people of Marikina)," a resident commented.
"Kung sino pa ung hindi tunay na taga-Marikina, iyon pa ung nagpapa-disqualify sa tunay at lehitimong taga-Marikina? Sana lumaban na lang ng patas at boto ng tao ang sasagot (Why are those who are not even true residents of Marikina are the ones trying to disqualify the real and legitimate residents of Marikina? Fight fairly and let the people's votes decide)," another one added.
Mayor Teodoro is also enjoying full support from Marikina City netizens, with the hashtag #ISupportMayorMarcy trending on social media.
In a social media post, Marikina 1st District Rep. Maan Teodoro declared that they will not be discouraged by the Commission on Elections' 1st Division's disqualification decision and will continue working for the betterment of Marikina.
"Tuloy ang trabaho. Tuloy ang laban (The work continues. The fight continues)," the lawmaker said in a Facebook post.
Mayor Teodoro, for his part, said he will appeal the 1st Division's decision to disqualify him as congressional candidate for Marikina's 1st District.
