Chris Evans is reportedly making a homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the upcoming ''Avengers: Doomsday,'' directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. However, the nature of his role remains unknown.
It is currently unclear whether Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers or Captain America, revisit his pre-MCU role as Johnny Storm, aka the Fantastic Four's Human Torch, or take on an entirely new character.
While a return in the iconic Captain America suit seems unlikely, the possibility of Evans portraying Rogers again has not been ruled out.
Evans recently surprised audiences with a cameo in "Deadpool & Wolverine," the MCU’s highest-grossing R-rated film. In the cameo, he briefly reprised his role as Johnny Storm from the Marvel Fantastic Four films, predating his Captain America days.
His last appearance as Steve Rogers was in "Avengers: Endgame," also directed by the Russo brothers, making fans eager to see if the actor will return in any capacity for "Avengers: Doomsday."
