LIMAY, Bataan — Vice mayor Richie Jason David has assumed as mayor of this richest municipality after his father mayor Nelson David passed away last week due to lingering illness.

First councilor Sarah V. David also assumed as vice mayor in line with the law of succession.

The young mayor David, or popularly known as Richie, was a product of Ateneo School of Government and De La Salle -College of San Benilde.

A soft-spoken and friendly like his father, Mayor Richie David vowed to continue the programs and visions of his father to maintain Limay as the richest municipality in the country, after Carmona, Cavite that was converted into a Component City recently.

Limay hosts to the multi-billion Petron Bataan Refinery which refines around 70 percent of the country’s petroleum products.

The  economic success and development of this town was attributed to the late Mayor Nelson David who had served as mayor for 25 long years and his son Richie, now the new mayor for his support in the economic development of Limay.

With its deep sea, Limay has a number of international sea ports such as the Petron port, where the biggest bulk of income through taxes coming from.

The Municipal Hall of Limay is the only town in the province that is equipped with escalator together with its public market.
