Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya boarded the visiting Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer JS SAMIDARE at Pier 15, South Harbor, Manila, on Wednesday to pay a courtesy call on Commander Koga Naoki, the vessel's Commanding Officer.
During the meeting, Commander Koga provided an overview of the anti-piracy operations conducted by JS SAMIDARE and gave the Ambassador a tour of the vessel.
The visit underscored the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s ongoing efforts to uphold maritime security in the Philippine seas and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
