The local government of Makati has directed the Makati City Police to intensify security measures in the city’s Central Business District (CBD) during the upcoming holiday season.
This comes as Makati Mayor Abby Binay wants to ensure the safety and security of residents, workers and visitors of the city.
Binay has ordered increased police visibility and deployment in strategic areas as the local government is strengthening its collaboration with private sector entities and barangay officials to establish a comprehensive security network.
“The safety and security of our constituents are paramount. We are working closely with law enforcement and our private sector partners to create a secure and vibrant environment for everyone to enjoy the holiday season,” Binay said.
Recently, the local government, in partnership with the Makati City Police, Makati Central Estate Association (MACEA), Makati Parking Authority (MAPA), and Ayala Land Inc., launched a comprehensive security plan for the CBD. This plan includes increased patrols by police, public safety officers, barangay tanods, and private security personnel.
Regular consultations and collaborative meetings will be held to address emerging security concerns and evaluate the effectiveness of existing strategies.
To facilitate prompt emergency response, the city government encourages residents and visitors to utilize the SOS feature of the Makatizen app or call the Makati Command Center at 168.
Binay also stressed the local government’s long-term commitment to public safety.
“Beyond addressing immediate concerns, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all Makatizens, solidifying Makati’s reputation as a model city of safety and innovation,” Binay said.
