Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two suspects in a buy-bust operation Thursday morning, seizing P1.3 million worth of shabu.

QCPD acting director P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. identified the suspects as Ericka Joy Sibog and Jonathan De Leon, both residents of Barangay Bambang, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Buslig said the Cubao Police Station 7, led by P/Lt. Col. Ramon Czar Solas, in coordination with PDEA-NCR, conducted the operation. The suspects were apprehended near No. 629 Sogo Hotel, EDSA Southbound, Barangay San Martin de Porres, Cubao, Quezon City.

At around 7:10 a.m., a police officer acting as a poseur buyer purchased P50,000 worth of shabu from one of the suspects. Upon a pre-arranged signal, both suspects were immediately arrested.

‘I commend the operatives of PS 6, led by P/Lt. Col. Ramon Czar Solas, for this successful operation. We will continue our relentless campaign against illegal drugs to eradicate it and achieve a drug-free city, not only in Quezon City but throughout Metro Manila.’

Seized from the suspects were 200 grams of shabu worth P1,360,000, two cellular phones and the buy-bust money.

Buslig said the suspects will be charged with violating R.A. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“I commend the operatives of PS 6, led by P/Lt. Col. Ramon Czar Solas, for this successful operation. We will continue our relentless campaign against illegal drugs to eradicate it and achieve a drug-free city, not only in Quezon City but throughout Metro Manila,” Buslig said.

He added that the operation aligned with the directives of PNP Chief PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil and NCRPO Acting Regional Director PBGEN Anthony A. Aberin to combat all forms of criminality within communities.
