Take the Yaris Cross 1.5 S HEV, the best-priced five-seater hybrid car from the biggest car maker-here in the Philippines.
At a starting price of P1.598 million, the Yaris Cross has a dimension of 4,310 millimeters X 1,770mm X 1,615mm. Just the right size for a ride that would make you enjoy urban and even country drives.
Its engine is a four-cylinder, inline, 16-valve with dual VVTi at 1,496 cubic centimeter displacement.
Other features include smart entry, push start, drive modes (eco, normal, power and EV) all standing on 18-inch alloy tires.
It also has Toyota Safety Sense and equipped with pre-collision system, automatic high beam, lane-tracing assist, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
But of course, for those not ready yet to jump into the EV world, Toyota has its old reliable Vios.
Only it's not really old. But with levelled-up brand-new look.
The brand's best-selling model starts at P732,000, which other vehicles in the segment simply can't compete against.
Vios helped Toyota Motor Philippines become the biggest car brand in the country in terms of sales.
The ubiquitous Vios has 37,971 last year alone. No wonder you see it on the streets whether as private cars or public utility.

Lexus, which is technically under TMP, has sold 1,843 units last year.
