Young actress Xia Vigor makes her movie comeback in the action-comedy film Itutumba Ka Ng Tatay Ko, which is Janno Gibbs' directorial debut.
In a televised interview (ABS-CBN), Vigor noted that having a hectic schedule doesn't hinder her as she enjoys working as an actress while also being in school.
"If you love what you're doing kahit na medyo mahirap talaga, nagagawa mong i-enjoy lang at maging masaya," Vigor said.
Vigor also shared the transitioning she experienced from being a popular child star to a blossoming teen actress.
"Siguro po yung mga roles, baka maging iba na, pero I'm excited to see kung ano yung mangyayari pa and I'm just enjoying every second of my life and doing the things that I love," she said.
In the action-comedy film, the former child star portrays a fierce teenage daughter of Gibbs, a hardworking yet timid father who prefers avoiding conflict. But he becomes fearless when he has to ensure that his daughter is not put in harm's way.
The 14-year-old actress said working with Gibbs was an easy and comfortable experience.
"It was so easy working with him po kasi he's passionate, he's a perfectionist. He helped me a lot sa mga scenes na kailangan i-add," she said.
Apart from Vigor and Gibbs, the film also stars Louise Delos Reyes, Jeric Raval, Anjo Yllana, Juliana Parizcova Segovia and more, with the special participation of Gibbs' late father and veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez.
Vigor also revealed that she is currently working on a new single and a new movie with Heaven Peralejo, Marco Gallo, Vina Morales and others.
Vigor is a British-Filipino former child actress who became the first grand winner of It's Showtime's segment Mini Me 2. Following her win and hosting stint at the noontime variety show, she gained more popularity when she impersonated American pop star Taylor Swift in the television competition Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids.
She then starred in the Philippine adaptation of the popular South Korean film Miracle in Cell No. 7 with Aga Muhlach.
Itutumba Ka ng Tatay Ko opened in theaters nationwide on 24 January.
