Luxury beach resort Discovery Shores Boracay is dedicating its festive celebration to the 16 years of partnership it has nourished with its guests and the island's residents.


During its recent tree-lighting ceremony, the resort staff delighted guests and locals alike by dressing up as storybook characters and parading around Discovery Shores Boracay and the streets of surrounding communities.

The activity was graced by internationally acclaimed Filipina singer Rachelle Ann Go-Spies, who shared her own memories with the island resort. In a short speech at the event, she looked back on her first experience with Discovery Shores Boracay 15 years ago, and expressed her gratitude for being part of the Discovery family.

The Christmas festivities extended to Balay Discovery Staff House with its dazzling light installation. Decorated to look like a Christmas village, the staff house lights up Boracay with a marvelous light show that was officially opened for public viewing after the resort's tree-lighting ceremony. Residents in Boracay can catch the light show from 6pm to 9pm everyday until 6 January.

"We wanted the spirit of this year's holiday celebrations to reflect the relationship between Discovery Shores Boracay and the island's residents, which through the years has been nothing short of fruitful and memorable," said hotel manager Erwin Lopez.

"We hope that the light installation and our own Christmas village give them the same joy it gave us when we were putting them all together," he added.

Entitled "Hearts Aglow," this year's Christmas celebration of Discovery Shores Boracay focuses on building and strengthening relationships, a fitting theme for the resort's goal of spreading holiday cheer to all its guests and to the community that has embraced the resort for 16 years.
