The Department of Migrant Workers in Central Visayas (DMW-7) revealed yesterday that an overseas job fair will be held on 8 December 2023.

Ten overseas recruitment agencies will offer 4,362 job vacancies for skilled and professional workers in Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and other European and Asian countries.

The job fair will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Atrium of Robinsons Galleria in Cebu City.

The DMW-7 regional director said the 13 positions with the highest number of vacancies are nurses, teachers, accountants, waiters and waitresses, managers, technicians, electricians, painters, caregivers, welders, managerial positions, farmers, and laborers.

"We urge the public, especially those who want to seek better employment opportunities overseas, to be wary and stay vigilant of the presence of illegal recruiters, who have already victimized so many. When in doubt, they can always visit the Department of Migrant Workers website and verify the legitimacy of the recruitment agency they are engaging with," Arriola told media.

Applicants are advised to be ready with the basic pre-employment requirements such as five copies of resume with photo, passport, pens, certificate of employment, certificates of training from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority(TESDA), professional license issued by the Professional Regulation Commission(PRC), and proof of educational qualification, either for senior high school or college.
