Davao City turned back Manila in an intense-filled match in the Pilipinas Super League just recently at the Paco Arena.
Behind the steady games of Bam Gamalinda, Mark Olayan, Winston Ynot, and Justine Sanchez, the Tigers outlasted the City Stars, 75-71, for their second straight victory.
A former player in the Philippine Basketball Association, Gamalinda knocked in 13 points on top of six boards.
But Ynot came away with a double-double performance of 12 points and 10 boards, then capped his long-game brilliance with a dagger trey in the endgame.
Sanchez, the spitfire guard, also contributed 12 points and Olayon chipped in 10 for Davao Occidental.
Warlo James Batac, Kim Cinco and Drian Celada conspired for Alpha Omega, which dealt NKT Sniper another painful loss, 76-73.
Batac produced 18 markers to go along with six boards while Cinco tallied 16 points.
Celada also provided the spark and contributed 11 markers for the Kings, who dished out 25 assists, nine more than their counterparts. Alpha Omega also produced more points coming off the bench, 34-27.
