Hotel101 group shines a light on sustainability, expands to Los Angeles

DoubleDragon Corporation's hospitality arm, Hotel101 Group, has put forward its sustainable initiative across the simultaneous tree-lighting ceremonies of its properties nationwide.
101 Stay Green, launched in 2022, has seen the Hotel101 Group engage in various projects, including information education campaigns, tree planting, coastal clean-ups, and its Bike Happy program. Collaborating with the Department of Tourism, the Philippine Coast Guard, local government units, and various stakeholders has been integral to these efforts.
General manager Gel Gomez highlighted the significance of holding the group's main occasion at Hotel101-Fort, a 33-storey business and leisure hotel at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The property is on a 1,224-square-meter lot and boasts sophisticated facilities, specialty retail shops, and restaurants.


During the celebration, the second 101 Stay Green champions were recognized. They are Taguig City Mayor Hon. Maria Laarni "Lani" Cayetano, Malay Mayor Hon. Frolibar Bautista, Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, Department of Transportation Undersecretary Anneli Lontoc, Department of Tourism NCR Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin, Booking.com, and International School of Sustainable Tourism chair and president Dr. Mina Gabor.
"As we gather around our Christmas trees, let us remember that the essence of the holiday season lies in our ability to give back while having fun and celebrating with our loved ones," Gomez said.
