Bong Go provides additional support to QC fire victims

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go provided additional support to recovering fire victims in Quezon City on Friday, 10 November. He emphasized the need to strengthen government efforts to help affected communities recover from tragedies such as fire incidents, and at the same time, intensify fire prevention efforts.
That day, 25 families received grocery packs, snacks, masks, vitamins, shirts, and balls for basketball and volleyball from Go's team. Meanwhile, there were also select recipients of shoes.
Held at the National Housing Authority (NHA) office, the NHA also provided housing assistance to the victims through its Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). The program, which Go advocated for and continues to support, provides housing assistance to families who have lost their homes due to natural calamities such as fires, typhoons, earthquakes, and other disasters.
Go in a video message.
A lost life is a lost life forever," he added.
Go took note of the Bureau of Fire Protection's (BFP) ongoing modernization program. Under Republic Act 11589, which Go primarily sponsored and authored, BFP is mandated to undergo a comprehensive modernization effort to enhance its capabilities in responding to emergencies effectively.
The modernization program is designed to equip BFP with better firefighting equipment, advanced rescue tools, and specialized training to handle various emergencies swiftly and efficiently. Go said this move is not only about acquiring modern tools but also investing in the firefighters' skills development, making them better prepared to handle disaster scenarios.
Addressing the residents, Go also highlighted that there are eleven Malasakit Centers in Quezon city if they need assistance with medical-related expenses in public hospitals.
