ILOCOS NORTE — The Department of Science and Technology in Region 1 on Monday launched the 2023 National Science, Technology and Innovation Week in Ilocos Norte, showcasing science and innovation by Filipino scientists at Laoag City Centennial Arena.
DoST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. said that the NSTW celebrates the important roles that science, technology and innovation have played in advancing society and has developed into a focal point for STI advocacy efforts around the country.
Prior to this, the Science and Technology department signed a memorandum of agreement with partner agencies and local government units in the launching of the Smart and Sustainable Communities program featuring Batac City, Ilocos Norte, Candon City, Ilocos Sur, City of San Fernando in La Union, and Alaminos City and Pangasinan.
