Bulacan, ASM Global forge waste management ecosystem deal

Waste segregation is vital for recycling and preserving resources. Teaching young ones responsible waste management is essential in light of our environmental challenges. It helps nurture responsible global citizens who understand their role in maintaining nature and resources.

To imbibe these values in future generations, the Municipality of Plaridel, Bulacan, ASM Global and Green Antz Builders Inc. (local recycling company) have teamed up to implement a digital waste management system in local schools and daycare centers.

With a memorandum of Agreement  officially signed, this collaboration seeks to establish a digital infrastructure for waste management, addressing environmental challenges, promoting sustainability, and fostering responsible waste practices.

Here's how the system works:

• Schools and daycare centers use the app built by ASM to educate children on waste segregation, encouraging them to segregate waste at home and school.
• Segregated waste is deposited into QR-coded bins within the school premises.
• Schools send an in-app pick-up request to the local recycling company, Green Antz Builders Inc.
• Green Antz collects the waste and converts it into circular products such as construction materials and fuel.
• The entire material traceability, from collection to recycling, is maintained through the ASM track and trace platform.
• The app provides schools with a dashboard to monitor their contributions, run campaigns, organize competitions, and reward responsible waste practices.

This digital collection system empowers educational institutions to promote recycling, sustainability, and the circular economy among young learners, nurturing environmentally conscious citizens for the future.

Furthermore, under this MoA, the parties will develop a comprehensive waste management solution addressing the challenges faced by the municipality. The project encompasses the creation of a digital platform, physical infrastructure for waste collection and recycling, and initiatives to raise public awareness and encourage participation in sustainable waste management practices.

Further, ASM Global offers a Plastic Credit Management platform, simplifying the generation of transparent EPR credits for waste diverters. This digital solution ensures compliance with RA 11898 regulations and makes it easy for all stakeholders to join the National EPR Program, supporting their sustainability efforts.
