JK Labajo has expressed gratitude on his X/Twitter account for being the first Filipino song to chart on Spotify. It became the highest-ranking new entry on the Top Songs Global list. 'Ere' has been a heavy favorite on the Philippine scene with its catchy melodic lilt, punctuated by a Filipino curse word, "Nakaka-P********"
While "Ere" is clearly a love song, it has been song-meme'd to express emotions from the many issues plaguing daily life, that are anything but romantic. It reached a zenith, perhaps, when Labajo himself posted a reel of a flooded area amid a stormy season in the country with his song—particularly the cursing part—in the backdrop.
Ere is a single from his album called Sad Songs and Bullshit part 1.
