Abalos taps PNP, BFP to help in PBBM’s Serbisyo Fair

DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr.
Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. on Monday said he had instructed the Philippine National Police and the Bureau of Fire Protection to help in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s "Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair".
Abalos said the PNP could not only help in providing safety and security measures during the rollout of the fair but also provide other services like medical and recruitment processes to those who want to enter the force.
The BFP, on the other hand, could field its first-aid units and provide medical services to beneficiaries of the fair. Abalos added the BFP can also help in the recruitment process for would-be aspirants from far-flung provinces.
President Marcos, along with Abalos and other government officials, kicked off the "Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair" in Nabua, Camarines Sur over the weekend, where thousands of residents particularly the poor from the province availed public services from representatives of different government offices.
"Ang programang ito ay isa lamang sa mga unang hakbangin ng pamahalaan upang magkaroon ng bagong pag-asa at bagong simula ang mga Pilipino. Magkakahiwalay man ang ating mga isla, pinagbubuklod-buklod naman tayo ng isang diwa at isang pangarap: isang Bagong Pilipinas para sa Bagong Pilipino," the President was quoted as saying during the roll out of the biggest service caravan in CamSur.
It was also simultaneously held in Monkayo, Davao de Oro; Tolosa, Leyte; and Laoag, Ilocos Norte where services like the Kadiwa ng Pangulo, Passport on Wheels, Pag-IBIG and National ID applications, driver's license registration assistance, and NBI and police clearance were offered.
Wheelchairs for senior citizens were also given, as well as to those who need them most. While farmers got their tractors, harvesters, and other vehicles and farm equipment. Fisherfolks, meanwhile, were given fish cage packages and bancas for their fishing.
"Alam po namin na marami tayong iniindang hirap sa panahong ito, kung kaya't sana ay makatulong ito sa inyo nang lubos," the President said.
Meanwhile, Abalos called on governors and other local government officials to support the President's Serbisyo Fair in their localities.
