Viet national stabs 2 tanods, arrested

Two barangay tanods in Malate were wounded when a Vietnamese national stabbed them using a screwdriver after they allegedly stopped him from masturbating in front of the public Friday morning at Arellano Avenue corner Zapanta Street Malate, Manila.
PCpl Samuel Cayabyab, of the Manila Police District -Police Station 9, identified the two wounded barangay tanods as Jerry Glory and Eizaldy Molin, of Barangay 754, Zone 81, Malate, Manila. The two suffered minor injuries in different parts of their body.
Aside from stabbing the victims, the foreigner also choked and punched another complainant Jamayca Pertiz y Arevalo, 24, resident of 1156 Villa San Antonio, Singalong Street, Malate.
MPD PS9 police, however, did not identify the suspect and his nationality from the spot report until the MPD-General Assignment and Investigation Section disclosed the full identity of the suspect.
It was learned that the suspect was spotted sitting at his e-bike and masturbating, unmindful of the people watching him.
The barangay tanods accosted the suspect and told him to stop such a scandal. Instead, the foreigner ran and was chased by the watchmen. He, however, flashed a screwdriver when he was about to be caught, and hit the chasing tanods.
The suspect was eventually arrested when the responding Arellano PCP police came. He is now detained at the police station and will face charges of alarm and scandal, physical injuries and grave threats at the Manila City Prosecutors office.
