Sexbomb Izzy Trazona-Aragon and her son Andrei went viral during the pandemic for their mother-and-son dance routine on Tiktok. People remarked that they didn't look like mother and son because Izzy still looked liked her old self from the halcyon days of Sexbomb, and that Andrei's dance skills didn't fall far from the tree.

Cut to 2023. As Andrei came out as Trans and started his nascent career as a Drag Queen called Sofia, people cheered. In an earlier interview, he said his mother was very supportive of this endeavor and self-expression.

It turns out, he lied. Yesterday he admitted that he did it "to protect her from any backlash", but his mother Izzy has put out a Facebook post that invoked Jesus and religion to explain her homophobia and her rejection of him. She ended with: Andrei anak, I love you so much to not support you on things that will harm you.

Sofia wrote in answer to her mother, "As much as I love you, you know that I don't wanna live in a lie. I'm sustaining myself for years…living responsibly honest. I am tired of this conversation…I wanna live my own truth, and someday you will be proud of what I will become.

This was met with intense condemnation and disappointment as SexBomb— while it was thought to be marketed to men—was really a gay icon, and the OG girl group, with millions in sales as well as hit TV series that ran a gazillion seasons, predated any K-pop group.

A post on Twitter that's typical of how this news was met: Kakasuka si Izzy Trazona for publicly disowning her child. She's a representation of a typical religious people who will use her faith and religion to justify hate and bigotry. Tamacaana. Hindi nakaka get get aw ang atake mo.
