TNT Tropang Giga again stood on the path of Barangay Ginebra and scored a
hard-earned 18-17 win to send the Kings to an early exit in Leg 4 of the Philippine Basketball Association 3×3 First Conference Season 3 Monday at the Ayala Mall Circuit.
Almond Vosotros shot 4-of-8 from the field for seven points, while Ping Exciminiano added five in the Triple Giga victory that put them on top of Pool A alongside Meralco.
The Bolts earlier dealt the Kings a 19-15 beating as the winner of Legs 1 and 2 formally bowed out with a 0-2 record.
Only a week ago, TNT denied Ginebra a possible third straight leg championship by eliminating the Kings in the quarterfinals, 21-19.
The Triple Giga, winner of last week's leg, and Bolts fight each other out for the top spot in their group.
San Miguel and Cavitex lost no time advancing into the next round, too.
The Beermen and Braves tallied two wins each to share the top spot in Pool C and make it to the quarterfinals.
San Miguel downed Purefoods, 21-13, and Terrafirma, 21-19, while Cavitex edged out Terrafirma, 18-16, and Purefoods,
19-18.
The two are contesting the top spot in its group as of press time, while the Titans and Dyip dispute the remaining playoffs berth in the same bracket.
Also with a 2-0 record is Wilcon Depot following victories over Blackwater, 14-13, and Northport, 18-14, to show the way in Pool B.
