The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority plans to have a school that can provide training courses for calamities and disasters with the support of the Office of the Civil Defense-National Capital Region (NCR) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-NCR).
Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MMDRRMC) Chairperson Romando Artes said the plan is to have a crisis management school that can provide a full training course especially for DRRM trainers of Metro Manila.
The MMDRRMC held a meeting with the local DRRMOs of Metro Manila and member-agencies to discuss the prepared Metro Manila DRRM Plan and plans for disaster response training next year to further strengthen their capability and capacity when it comes to responding to calamities and disasters.
Led by Artes, the Department of Science and Technology-NCR has reported their preparedness regarding Disaster Prevention and Mitigation; DILG-NCR on Disaster Preparedness; and Department of Health-NCR regarding firework-related case management and hand, foot, and mouth disease surveillance update.
