
Operatives from the Manila Police District-Special Mayors Reaction Team have arrested a 60-year-old Barangay executive officer who was accused of raping a minor with physical disability.
The suspect — identified as Orlando Madriaga — was nabbed by authorities via a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Roberto Quiroz of the Manila RTC Branch 29. The accused was arrested by MPD Smart police Saturday.
Authorities said that the suspect has been in hiding for more than 10 years and the manhunt operation conducted by the MDIT-RIU-NCR and SMaRT stemmed from the intelligence report regarding the place where the suspect was hiding.
Upon receiving information, police conducted surveillance for verification before the arrest was made.
Based on record, the rape incident against the victim occurred on 11 August 2012 in Arlegui Street, Barangay 387 in Quiapo, Manila.
The suspect is detained at the MPD-SMaRT detention un til commitment order will be issued by RTC judge in charge of the case.
