The Kindergarten to Grade 12 or K-12 program should not just be reviewed, as suggested by the Department of Education, because it should be overhauled, according to a group of teachers.
During Sunday's Balitaan sa Tinapayan media forum, teacher-activist Vladimir Queta said the government of the late President Noynoy Aquino rammed false hopes on parents and students in pushing K-12.
Queta said the teachers were not consulted by the Aquino administration over K-12.
"The parents were fooled into believing that their children could be employed and have competence once they pass K-12," he said.
K-12 was only intended to serve as the tool of businesses to get cheap labor, he added.
