FEU exploits undermanned DLSU

Far Eastern University took advantage of the short-handed De La Salle University, 67-63, in the Season 85 University Athletic Association of the Philippines men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Tamaraws took down the Green Archers that missed the services of Schonny Winston (calf injury), Michael Phillips (diarrhea), Raven Cortez (ankle sprain), Ice Blanco (fever), and Evan Nelle (one-game suspension).

The Tamaraws went on an 8-0 run to lead by six with 52.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter, 56-50.

CJ Austria converted a crucial triple with 31.9 ticks to go but the Green Archers weren't able to complete the comeback as he fumbled the ball in the dying seconds of the game.

Xyrus Torres led FEU with 12 points as the team advanced to a 4-6 win-loss record.

Meanwhile, Kevin Quiambao led La Salle with 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in a losing effort, as the team succumbs to a 3-5 record.
