The city government of Caloocan conducted a free seminar on HIV and AIDS awareness last Sunday at 3/F Bulwagang Katipunan, Caloocan City Hall-South.
A total of 40 residents, composed of solo parents, employees and social workers were educated on how to avoid contracting the said illnesses as the said program aims to reduce the stigma around sexually transmitted diseases.
According to the City Social Welfare Development Department, educating social workers shall also help in their cases involving adolescent individuals, teaching them the importance of STD testing and the use of contraceptives.
Likewise, the said program is aligned with the city government's goal to promote a healthier and more receptive society.
Present also during the said seminar were representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
