The Commission on Elections on Tuesday said that they are in the 'last phase' of their preparations for the 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
In a Laging Handa Public Briefing, Comelec Spokesperson Atty. John Rex Laudiangco said that they are currently 80% to 90% ready for the elections, as resources are expected to be delivered this week or the following week.
However, the poll body will redirect its efforts in voter registration starting on the last week of November if President Bongbong Marcos signs the bill that would reschedule the elections to October 2023.
Meanwhile, Laudiangco said that Comelec will pilot-test their new system of voter registration dubbed 'Register Anywhere' in Metro Manila.
Comelec says that it could ease the voter registration process as voter registration booths will be set up in select areas within a respective city or municipality for residents to register.
