Newly-appointed NLEX head coach Frankie Lim has to wait for a couple of games before officially making his comeback in the Philippine Basketball Association.
For the next two outings, Adonis Tierra will call the shots for the Road Warriors as interim coach while Lim still has to work on a few documents before taking the coaching cudgels for NLEX.
Lim and Tierra confirmed this to The Daily Tribune, a day before the Road Warriors play their first game in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday against Rain or Shine, which is now being handled by former NLEX mentor Yeng Guiao.
The multi-titled collegiate coach Lim reported Thursday for his first day of work in the Road Warriors practice.
Lim said he had delegated Tierra to coach the team's first two games He is looking to officially make his debut Friday next week when NLEX takes on Blackwater.
It has been seven years since Lim coached in the PBA. He handled Barangay Ginebra during the 2015 Commissioner's Cup but got involved in a skirmish with Calvin Abueva, who was then playing for Alaska.
He was replaced by Tim Cone, who had since guided Ginebra to winning six titles.
