Eastern Police District Acting District Director Col. Wilson Asueta, on Thursday condemned one of its personnel allegedly involved in the stealing of PLDT copper cable in Quezon City on Tuesday.
Asueta said he directed the chiefs of police of Pasig City, Mandaluyong City, Marikina City, and San Juan City, including the district mobile force battalion, to conduct dialogue with all police officers to reiterate and institute more reforms in line with the Philippine National Police internal cleansing program to prevent similar incidents involving the police.
The suspect, identified as Pat. Francis Baquiran in cahoots with three others, were arrested by the elements of theAnonas Police Station in Quezon City.
"I will not condone nor disregard any personnel who were involved in illegal activities under my watch. We do not tolerate any misconduct and breach of discipline in the PNP organization. Hence, we will not hesitate to discharge personnel of EPD if they are found liable for any unlawful acts," Asueta said.
"Further, we will assure the public that we will intensify aggressively our campaign against illegal activities within our ranks and let us not also forget there are still thousands of police officers who are performing their duties well to serve and protect the public" the EPD chief added.
The arrested suspects underwent inquest proceedings and now under the custody of Quezon City Police District.
