2 nabbed over alleged sale of fraudulently acquired aircon units

Two Tondo residents were arrested in Quezon City after allegedly offering for sale six air-conditioning units acquired through a fraudulent transaction, police said.
The Quezon City Police District identified the suspects as alias “Mia,” 36, and alias “Mae,” 24.
Their arrest stemmed from a complaint involving six air-conditioning units later advertised online.
According to the QCPD, the complainant verified that the model and serial numbers of the units matched those listed in the company’s inventory records and reported the matter to the Masambong Police Station.
Police then launched an entrapment operation in Barangay San Antonio, with the complainant acting as poseur-buyer.
The suspects were arrested at around 8:31 p.m. on Tuesday, 6 October, after allegedly receiving marked money.
Recovered were six Haier 2.5-horsepower wall-mounted air-conditioning units valued at a combined P347,988 and P120,000 in marked money.
The suspects are set to face complaints for alleged violation of the Anti-Fencing Law and other applicable laws before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
